How We Raise Our Puppies

Pregnancy and Whelping
Before breeding any of our dogs, we ensure that they are in good health. We carefully monitor the mother throughout the entire pregnancy. When it's time for the mother to give birth, someone is present with her throughout the process.
Week 1
When the puppies are three to five days old, we take them to our vet to have their dewclaws removed and their tails docked. The vet also conducts a thorough examination of the puppies. At this stage, we play calming music in the whelping room and start handling the puppies immediately, working on desensitization.
Week 2
As week two comes to a close, the puppies will begin to open their eyes. We carefully observe to ensure they are eating enough and that the mother is also doing well.
Week 3
Once the puppies open their eyes, they become more mobile and start to experiment with walking. At this stage, we also start playing desensitizing noises for the puppies, such as cars honking, dishes clanging, and thunderstorms. Additionally, we begin our deworming regimen.
Week 4
At week 4, if the weather permits, we start taking them outside to play. We also start supplementing with a goat milk formula and blended puppy food.
Week 5
When the puppies are around 5 weeks old, we start grooming them by shaving their feet and face and trimming their nails, so they start becoming accustomed to the process before going to their new homes.
Week 6
At this stage, the puppies' personalities begin to emerge. We observe and take notes to match each puppy with a suitable home.
Week 7
We start kennel training the litter as a group so the puppies are familiar with being placed in a kennel every night. The puppies will also be brought back to our vet for final examinations and vaccinations before going to their new homes.
Week 8
The puppies are ready to go to their new homes!
